I love for the dining table to be beautiful, so I think this place setting that is featured on the mydigitalstudio.net blog is fabulous!
(Confession:  I don't like to cook unless I'm sure the end result is going to look pretty enough that my guests want to take a picture!  It may not be fit to eat, but you can bet it looks like it should be in a foodie magazine.  My presentation of the turkey would make Martha Stewart jealous!  Ha ha!)
The designer of this table setting, Sara Brook, from Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio Team, used SU's recently released Thanksgiving themed MDS download, Unknown Blessings Ensemble, which was inspired by the fall season and the growing fashion trend of geometrics.  This download makes it easy to create a beautiful Thanksgiving table.  You can order this download at joycefisher.stampinup.net.

I think I'll call my little sister, "Miss Monique", and see if she wants to get together and make some of the cute & easy headbands for her pre-school class at Carbondale New School.  I know the kids would love them!
Hmmm, I'm suddenly craving turkey and pumpkin pie!!!

Is this not just the most adorable Scarecrow you've ever seen?!?!?!
I first saw him on Frenchie's website and I asked for permission to CASE him, which she so kindly gave!  Since then I've seen various versions of him.  Gail Murray used him on her fabulous fall scrapbooking layout and Rae Harper's is really cute, too!   That's where I got the idea for the cute Spice Cake fabric bow.

I love his "wonky" eyes!  I can't wait until this afternoon to share him with my Stampin' Up! friends at Cheryl Couch's stamp camp.  I wish you could join us, but since you can't  I would be happy to email you the step-by-step instructions!
You can order the products to make him at joycefisher.stampinup.net
PRODUCTS USED:  Top Note Die & Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper, Spice Cake fabric, Bird Builder Punch, Petite Pennant Punch, Small Oval Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Linen Thread, small brown lunch sack.
Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Basic Black and Crumb Cake

Update on Breast Cancer Awareness Stamp Camp

Last week, I hosted my 2nd Annual "I'm Dreaming of a PINK Christmas" event in honor of my beloved Mother, Louise Mileur, who is celebrating her 20th year as a Breast Cancer Survivor!!!   Unfortunately, she ended up being sick and wasn't able to attend either session.

I shared two of the cards that we made on October 25th, you can view them on the post titled "I'm Dreaming of a PINK Christmas".  (The little snow-woman purse didn't make the final cut after all.)  I wanted to share the other two cards that we made at the Breast Cancer Awareness events.

I think this first project was the most popular at both sessions.
Images (c) Stampin" Up!
I made a few variations so the project would fit my "PINK Christmas" theme.
Thanks to Dawn Olchefske for letting me CASE her original project shown below.  Dawn has an excellent video that shows you step-by-step how she made the cocoa packet.

Images (c) Stampin' Up!
This is Dawn's original creation!  I knew it would be a hit with my Stampin' Up! friends!

  1. Cut the Early Espresso card stock (CS) 5.5" x 8.5".  Using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, score straight down at 4.25", then use the diagonal plate to score at 5.75".  Fold in half.
  2. Adhere a 4.25" x 1" piece of pink Designer Series Paper (DSP) to card front as shown.
  3. I just love adding texture, so we embossed the Early Espresso CS with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder in the Big Shot machine.  Next fold scored flap under.  Use piece of sticky strip to secure bottom edge.
  4. Use Croc-o-dile or other hole-punch to punch two holes along right edge, thread pink grosgrain ribbon (retired) through holes and tie candy cane on.  Aren't these lime green & pink candy canes that I found at Kroger's just perfect?!?!?!
  5. Punch 2.5” circle out of “Be of Good Cheer” DSP and attach to packet front with Stampin’ Dimensionals foam dots.  I have to give my best friend, Jan Oestmann, credit for the great DSP that was used for the circle, her suggestion was a much better choice than what I first tried!
  6. Ink mug stamp from Scentsational Season with Primrose Petals (PP) ink.  Use Aqua Painter or a damp Q-tip to remove Primrose Petals ink from "liquid" part of design.  Use the Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write marker to color in liquid.  “Huff”  (exhale) on stamp to remoisten ink and stamp on Very Vanilla CS.  Use Chocolate Chip ink to stamp steam on Very Vanilla CS.  Use Holiday Collection Framelits Dies to cut designs out.
  7. Use your paper trimmer or a craft knife to make a small slit through the middle of the liquid in the cup and slide the bottom edge of the steam into the slit, secure with a Stampin' Dimensionals foam dot on the back.
  8. Attach cup & steam with Stampin’ Dimensionals foam dots to the DSP circle.  Adhere rhinestone to center of snowflake on cup.
  9. Attach 3.5” x 0.5” strip of DSP to top edge of 3.5” x 5” Very Vanilla CS.  Stamp sentiment of choice then insert into packet along with the Swiss Miss Cocoa packet.
  10. Stamp coordinating image, we used the Gingerbread Man from Scentsational Season, on Whisper White envelope or emboss envelope.
  11. Bring Peace, Love & Joy to someone’s heart when they open your beautiful handmade card!!!
Our fourth card was made with the Top Note Die!  Isn't she just too adorable!!!  Everyone loved discovering how easy it is to use Sharpie permanent markers to color our pearls to match any project.

I hope I've inspired you to THINK PINK this Christmas!  And if you didn't call to have your mammogram scheduled in October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, PLEASE make an appointment as soon as possible.  Early detection saves lives!!!  My Mother is living proof.

Here's my special Halloween treat for you!!!  Watch the Pirouettes cover "THRILLER"

Angie's band, The Pirouettes, performed "Thriller" at the Halloween Pops Concert in Shryock Auditorium on Southern Illinois University's campus.  Here's my cute Ladybug:

The Pirouettes, performed a cover of "Thriller" live on WDBX.org 91.1 FM.
Here's what Angie had to say on Facebook:

"Just like Amy Myers thought it was ok to not shower because we were playing on the radio, we thought it'd be ok to not have the words memorized since we were singing on the radio. once again, wrong.

BUT nonetheless here's our version of THRILLER! Happy Halloween :)"

    Community Radio for southern Illinois!!

My daughter, Angie, is the lead vocalist.
You can hear more of the Pirouettes' original music on YouTube
